Sorry, I got a little cranky there...

In the end, sure, we helped, but as I indicate below, there is a strong argument for the brits and the russkies having turned the corner prior to substantive impacts of our efforts.

And, by extension, they could have survived without us...would it have been uglier? Yes, but the Axis was never going to win the battle with the russkies...

Just as we turned the corner in the Pacific within six months with Japan, and it was all downhill (bloody nonetheless) from there...
